Circuit history
Street circuit in the coastal resort of Durban in Kwa-Zulu Natal. The track played host to the A1 Grand Prix series in 2006 and proved popular with both drivers and spectators alike.
The circuit fronts onto the beach, encircles a casino and runs alongside and army base, as well as apartment blocks, giving an appearance somewhere between Long Beach and Monaco. Although a short and bumpy course, the circuit offers a number of challenges for the drivers and provided for good entertainment.
With grandstands packed with some 22,000 fans starved of top-line action, the Durban street race has immediately become South Africa's top motorsport attraction.
