Circuit history:

A fast temporary road course close to Charleoi on the French border, Chimay was for many years the home of the Grand Prix de Frontières. By 1972 it had become too dangerous for modern racing cars and David Purley won the final F3 race, the circuit holding motorcycle events thereafter. However, in 1996 it was revived in a shortened form as a venue for the Belgian Procar championship - although the fast sweeps had gone, replaced with chicane-blighted straights and a largely rectangular layout.
