Circuit history:
Street course in Des Moines, Iowa, which held Trans Am races from 1989 to 1994. Odd weather was a hallmark of the event, with searing 110 degree heat in 1989 and rain the following year. Winners included Dorsey Schroeder, Tom Kendall and Scott Sharp.
Corporate interest in the race was good, with some 160 hospitality suites rented to businesses during the 1992 event. The track itself was unusual in incorporating two bridges across the Des Moines River.
