Britain's newest circuit, the Rockingham road and oval combination at Corby in Northamptonshire, is aiming to create a motorsport industrial estate on a vacant plot of land next to the speedway.

The circuit owners hope for an Indy-style concentration of teams and manufacturers at the site, which will also provide extra parking on race weekends.

"We're interested in developing a piece of land adjacent to Rockingham to turn it into a centre for motorsport or like-minded industries," said managing director David Grace.

"Many car makers and motorsport teams have dedicated test tracks on their doorstep. We believe Rockingham can offer this advantage to teams and chassis builders, for both an oval and a road course."
