New complex for Nürburgring

The Nürburgring in Germany will undergo a facelift this winter, in an attempt to improve the chances of overtaking and spice up racing action.
A new first-corner complex will see the track double back on itself into a new stadium section before rejoining the circuit before the current Turn 3.
The 560 metre extension will also be wider than the current Turn 1 and will allow an increase in spectator capacity of 30,000.
"The idea came from us," said circuit director Dr Walter Kafitz. "We want to improve the excitement for spectators and we want a better view, more overtaking and more spectacular races."
The £4 million extension will allow spectators in the stadium to see the cars for around 18 seconds each lap.
