Rockingham and Sepang are both hoping to establish themselves as testing venues for F1 teams.

Rockingham has applied for a licence to host F1 testing on the combined oval and road course. If they are successful, a British team will be invited to inspect the facilities.

Meanwhile Sepang, home of the Malaysian GP, is hoping that hot weather will establish the facility as a winter testing venue. Circuit bosses are expected to approach the FIA at the 2002 race.
