Race fans wanting to experience the whole weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway will be able to mingle with the stars - as they sleep under them!
As part of an on-going effort to improve the motorsports experience for fans, a major campground project is underway at the track near Hampton, Georgia, that includes constructing a spacious new camping lot, to be called the Legends Campground.
Fans will be able to choose their space on such rows as Allison Ave., Baker Blvd., Cale’s Curve, Darrell Drive, Elliott's Edge, Fireball Fairway, Gordon Gorge, Harry’s Hollow, Irvin Inlet, Jarrett Junction, Kulwicki Knoll and Labonte Lane.
In addition to increasing the number of total camping spaces available to fan, the new campground will feature wider parking spots – 25ft x 45ft – to accommodate larger recreational vehicles.
The entire project is scheduled to be completed this summer, well before the October 25-27 NAPA 500 weekend.
“We are creating the Legends Campground due to the tremendous increase in demand for quality camping access at our events,” said Ed Clark, president and general manager of Atlanta Motor Speedway.
