Fearsome 130R set for changes

Map showing 130R changes

Suzuka's ultra-fast 130R corner is set to undergo changes in the wake of Allan McNish's huge accident at the Japanese Grand Prix.

The corner will be re-profiled and made to turn in earlier, allowing for a larger run-off area.

The changes were agreed in consultation with Jarno Trulli and Michael Schumacher but some fear that the new corner will now become a straight-forward 'easy flat' turn.

McNish speared off the circuit after his Toyota became unsettled over 130R's infamous bump, crashing through the safety barriers on the outside of the corner, landing in the marshall's area.
