Portions of the Watkins Glen road course in New York State will be repaved in the autumn - the first major works in 10 years.

The track will undergo a series of improvements including the milling and repaving of Turn 1, Turn 5, and Turn 6, the first turn going into the extended 3.4 mile Grand Prix course. Some of the paving will address issues concerning emanate water and drainage along the concrete sections of the racing surface.

"This is part of our on-going capital improvement plan at The Glen," said track president Craig Rust. "Over the past several years we have been able to enhance the quality of racing for our stakeholders including; race fans, drivers, and the various series that compete here."
