Puebla makes changes for WTCC
Major changes are set to be made by the Puebla circuit in Mexico for the second visit of the WTCC.
The facility first hosted the touring car series last year on a revised course, which utilised one of the circuit's banked oval turns. But the track drew some criticism because of the lack of run-off and close proximity of the concrete walls at several places. The WTCC stars also found it a little too twisty and low-grip for their liking.
In response, track owners the Abed family have announced new changes, which will see the first half of the track reconfigured, with additional run-off in place. The entire track will also be resurfaced to try and improve grip levels.
The new course, which will also incorporate the other banked oval turn, will measure 2.09 miles and be used by the series on July 30.
