Misano updates for MotoGP

Aerial plans for the Misano

The Misano-Adriatico circuit in Italy has undergone substantial alterations in preparation for its debut MotoGP round in September.

The circuit direction has been reversed to provide greater run-off areas, while the beginning and end loops have been substantially altered.

The San Marino Grand Prix will be held on September 2, headlining the 2007 events for the track, which also include rounds of the Superbike World Championship and the Renault World Series.

Following the alterations, the track will measure 4.2km and will be renamed as 'Misano World Circuit'

Local rider Alex de Angelis is already looking forward to the race at his 'home' circuit.

“To run at my home event will be truly fantastic. In 1999 I already had the chance to race at 'home' with wild card entry to Imola but this time is different. I will be able to count on the support of my family, my fans and with the background of my country, the Republic of San Marino dominating the circuit from above," he said.
